Gulf Oil Spill Cleanup

May 01, 2010

As we did during the Exxon Valdez disaster in 1989, Leigh Fibers is contributing to efforts to contain the terrible oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico that threatens the environment and economy of that region. Throughout the current crisis, Leigh is committed to the following actions:

  1. Provide customers who make oil-absorbent products with environmentally-friendly materials made from recycled fibers
  2. Assure them of a steady supply and delivery as promised in this time of high demand
  3. Develop new custom-blended products as needed to support clean-up efforts
  4. Maintain ready access to sources of post-consumer and post-industrial waste streams for any cotton, natural and synthetic fibers customers request

Leigh Fibers has been committed to environmental responsibility throughout its 97-year history and, as always, is proud to do its part. If you need help with a product to help contain the Gulf oil spill, or perhaps have textile or nonwovens waste materials to sell that might ultimately be used in this fight, please contact us using the form below.

Leigh Fibers is looking for companies to partner with to help with the disaster relief in the Gulf of Mexico. Please contact us using the form below if you would like to help.
