Leigh Fibers, one of the worlds leading processors of textile waste and fiber by-products, is always an active buyer and seller, and its processing capacity is adequate for any need. Much of its activity is exporting and importing.
Founded in Boston in 1922, Leigh was an affiliate of a well known British cotton waste company, John Leigh, Ltd. In the 1920's and 1930's Leigh grew to be an important merchant and processor of cotton waste with extensive importing and exporting activities, with several offices overseas. As the
US textile industry moved to the South, Leigh closed
its New England plants and opened a state-of-the-art
reprocessing plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
This plant opened in 1961 and has continued to grow
and stay current with modern technology. Today, it
is the largest textile waste and by-product
reprocessing company in North America. Leigh’s
quality and consistency has earned it the reputation
of being the best supplier in the eyes of its
customers.
